Tell us more about your requirement - long/short/soft/hard etc....(for the rod)..and where you will fish..
For the reel, like the others said, even the cheapest reel will do...so can save a bit $$ here...
If you are going get one rod only and would like to try out the most fishing spots, I guess 3.9 meter zoom 4.5 meter is your best choice...
I thought of a few combos for your reference (rod/reel), please keep in mind this is my personal opinion and I don't mean to offence any rod owners  ...and the prices quoted below might not be updated due to the appreciation of YEN....
Power combo / strong rod
Daiwa Black Jack Commander T or T超硬 + Daiwa X200 = 1,700 + 300
上興 G4 (Taiwan brand) + Daiwa X200 = 1,400 + 300
Medium power / all around
Daiwa Black Jack Commander F + Daiwa X200 = 1,700 + 300
上興極速黑鯛 + Daiwa X200 or Ryobi Hechi 85 or Ryobi 607 = 1,100 + 300/500/880
上興黑鯛達人 + Daiwa X200 or Ryobi Hechi 85 or Ryobi 607 = 900 + 300/500/880
2nd hand 黒鯛工房 VL Limited + Patro reel = 1,650?? (the package Driftsinkangler selling)
黒鯛工房XL + Daiwa X200 = 1,700 + 300 (note: XL is actually in between medium power and soft)
Fun combo / soft rod
Nissin rods (Mulch / Super Mulch) + Daiwa X200 or Ryobi Hechi 85 or Ryobi 607 = 800 to 1,100 + 300/500/880
Other choices:
Rod:
Tica 巧 技 or 搏技 (medium power, Chinese brand) - 600 to 800
Seamatch (medium power, Korean brand) - 500
Reel:
Old version Shimano 鱗夕彩 3: 600 to 700
Prox 72: 800
Daiwa S100: 400
There are many other Taiwan brands might fall into your budget but do more research first as the quality tend to vary... |
