A bit of Techniques that one might Overlook

When fishing.................................


Check knots at all times

Check point of hook

Don't over cast

Limit false casts

Vary method of retrieve

To improve strikes, change colour of fly

To improve strikes, change size of fly

Keep tension on the line at all times

Surface fish early mornings and evenings

Fish deep when sun is high

Present fly in front of sighted fish

Fish to and around structures

Be quiet in your approach.

****Beadhead flies sink quickly,  if using a sinking or intermediate line, retrieve quickly.

When using a floating line, if one allows the fly to sink, you can nymph the fly back.

Due to structure of the fly, beadheads make a noise when they land and this can entice a fish to take.
