How to remove guides of 前打 rod?

Per title, how would you remove the original U shape wire guides on a 前打 rod?  I am looking to remove the guides of 1) rod tip 2) other U guides with very thick coating.

I was told for the tip, you can just burn the wrapping a bit and remove it slowly.  For other guides with thick coat, cut most of the coating with cutter and remove the original wrapping line afterwards.

What would be your approach?  If you have step by step pictures on the process / link to site, it will be very helpful and appreciated~ thanks...
