English Fly Fishing Experience Sharing Only (英語專區)

For the past weeks, I've heard there are quite a few English speaking Fly Fisherman out there in Hong Kong. I'm hoping our board can be a multi-langage friendly environment. So, this is the thread for English speakers to say hi or sharing fly fishing experience. You are also welcome to start a new thread on a specific topic.

Yes I am New to HK. Thanks kfd for the thread it is hard to translate thread into English so I have just been looking at the pic's.
I found that if you right click on the page at the bottom there will be 'page set up" click this than 'translate page into English'
You will lose all the pic's but you can just make out what some are saying. Your HK lingo is out there.

Anyway I’m from Australia and love flyfishing, but will use what ever it takes to catch fish. I have a deal with Pro-Angler in Australia that they supply some gear for articles in return (they produce a Magazine twice a year)

Love fishing for Australian Bass and large game fish off the rocks (LBG, Land Base Game) even caught a Black Marlin off the rocks.

In HK I’m on a couple of Quests as I have started to call them.
1-Redfish
2-Snakehead
3-Tarpon
4-Permit

It Nov going to S'pore to try and catch Sailfish on fly.

Will keep you posted on things.

The "English" button at the bottom right of the page will only give you english function key but not tranlating content to english. You should still be able to see the pics. If you dont see them, you may have to re-login

Redfish.. you will need some luck to see them, but they are out there
We can take you to the tapron canal when you have time for fishing
Permit... this would be the hardest one to catch... have not seen one caught one on bait this year

I guess many of us would love to see your marlin picture. ISHIDAI is what we call "large game fish off the rocks"

what kind of bait did you use for marlin?

Thanks but its a small one, this year they got them over the 100kg. The biggest landed of the rocks in Australia is 156kg
Bait was what we call Yellow tail and Slimys. Will try and find some pic's of the bait. But ill try and keep the thread to fly stuf.

Have you got a chance to fish a snakehead?
Last night for me was a total disaster, parties of people were catching fish using electrical shocks.

Went up to the local ress but the water in low. No snakehead to be seen. I have got Sat morning free till about 11am so ill try and find a fish somewhere. May-be Ill taxi it to the spot you showed me or look for Redfish local.
